After previous gain today the market closed with a negative note or Nifty fail to hold the level of 7,850.
The 30-share BSE Sensex closed at 25,597 down by 175 points and 50-share NSE Nifty closed at 7,848 down by 38 points or 0.49%.
Today advanced shares are 1103,declined shares 1446 and 158 shares are unchanged.
The BSE Midcap index ended with gains of 0.17% and BSE Smallcap index shed 0.03%.
China Shanghai Composite index ended 0.16% higher,while the Hong Kong’s Hang Seng lost 0.93% .
Japan’s Nikkei surged a 0.08%.
The fall in a index was led by losses in ITC,ICICI Bank,HDFC,HDFC Bank.
