Equity Benchmark indices snapped two-day losing streak on Thursday, driven by health care, technology and auto stocks. The BSE Sensex closed up 145.71 points at 28301.27 and the NSE Nifty rose 53.30 points to 8778. About 1814 shares advanced against 992 declining shares on the BSE. The Indian Rupee Closed lower by 15 paise at 67.05 against US Dollar.
All BSE sector closed with positive leads. The BSE Small Cap gained 179 points at 13413, BSE Mid-Cap hiked 164 points at 13352.In Commodity market, Gold jumped up 155 points at 29,298 while Silver closed up 219 points at 42,870.
Sun Pharma, Infosys, Maruti Suzuki, Tata Steel, GAIL, Aurobindo Pharma and Tata Motors (DVR) gained 2-4 percent while ITC, L&T, ICICI Bank, Asian Paints, Coal India, Bharti Infratel, Bosch and BPCL were under pressure.
European Market update: FTSE declined 32 points to 7269, CAC lost 19 points to 4905 and DAX dropped 22 points to 11771.
