The market failed to hold 52-week high touched in early trade Thursday as the Nifty closed below 8900 on profit booking. The BSE Sensex closed down 145 points at 28839 down 78 points, while NSE Nifty slipped at 8899 down 46 points. The Indian Currency closed lower by 11 paise at 66.72 per Dollar. A total of 67 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 11 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
All BSE sector are closed with negative leads. The BSE Mid-cap Index is dropped 191points at 13377, BSE Small-cap Index is lost 178 points at 13574 and Bank Nifty declined 223 points to 20560. In Commodity market, Gold closed down 77 points to 29,351 while Silver closed lower by 68 points to 43,340.
In European Market, FTSE slipped 7 points to 7382, DAX dropped 2 points to 12064 while CAC ended marginally up by 5 points to 4966.
End of the day, Tata Motors (D) (2.91%), Tata Motors (2.73%), Ultra Tech Cement (2.32%%), Bajaj Auto (2.28%), Hero Motocorp (1.61%) are Top Gainers among BPCL (3.68%), Idea Cellular (3.22%), Adani Ports (2.86%), Sun Pharma (2.66%), NTPC (2.50%) are Top Losers on BSE.
