After clocking record high during the opening session, the market ended the day on a relatively subdued note as investors booked profits due to the rally witnessed by benchmarks this week. The Sensex closed up 63.14 points at 29648.99, while the Nifty hiked 6.35 points at 9160.05. The market breadth was negative as 1,225 shares advanced, 1,593 shares declined, while 204 shares are unchanged.
Maximum BSE sector closed with negative leads. The BSE Small Cap gained 6 points at 14012, BSE Mid-Cap dropped 19 points to 13893 while Bank Nifty lost 74 points to 21175.
End of the day ITC, HCL Tech, Infosys, Wipro, Eicher Motors are Top Gainers while Idea Cellular, Bharti Airtel, Bank of Baroda, Tata Motors (D), SBI are Top Losers on the NSE.
