In early trade on Thursday market opened with red but ends with strength or Nifty ends above 8,550 for the day.
The 30-share BSE Sensex closed at 27,942 gain 126 points or 0.46% and 50-share NSE Nifty closed at 8,565 gain 45 points or 0.53%.
End of the day ICICI Bank, Maruti, BHEL and ITC are top gainers while ONGC, Infosys, Sun Pharma and Dr Reddy's Labs were losers in the Sensex.
Today the Hang Seng index rose 1.1 percent, to 21,561.06 and the China Enterprises Index also gained 1.1 percent.
In Asia China Shanghai Composite ended 0.22% lower while Japan’s Nikkei ended 0.95%.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng gained 1.12%.
