The Indian equity market opened flat t slightly lower on Wednesday after sharp gains in the previous session.
The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 28444.98 up 83 point,while NSE Nifty is trading at 8,778 up 34.15 points.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.53 % at 13,238 wheres BSE Small-cap index is trading up 0.52% at 12,692.
Asian paints, Hero motoCorp,Cipla, ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel, HDFC and Adani port are among the gainers,where TCS, ONGC, NTPC, Infosys, and Wipro are losing seen on BSE.
The INDIA VIX is trading up 3.34% at 13,4550. Out of 1,844 stock traded on the NSE, 409 declined , 1,038 advanced and 397 remaind unchanged today.
A total of 44 stock registered a fresh 52-week high is trades today, while 10 stock touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
The Indian rupee opened marginally lower by 5 paise at 67.08/$ aginst US Dollar Wednesday as against the previous close of 67.02/$.
Asian market opened mixed. Nikkei 225 gained 0.78%, while Hang Seng and Shanghai Composite are trading in red.
