Closing Bell: Buying in late trade helped the BSE Sensex gain 132 points intraday Tuesday, especially ahead of the outcome of the 2016 US presidential elections. The market was range bound before gaining strength in last hour of trade.
Today's Indian Equity benchmarks were marginally higher amid consolidation. The Sensex gained 132 points at 27591 and the Nifty rose 46 points to 8543. About 1370 shares have advanced, 1508 shares have declined, and 130 shares are unchanged. Indian currency Rupee is closed higher by 0.09 paise at against US Dollar.
All sector are closed with positive leads. BSE Small Cap closed up 21 points to 13051, BSE Mid-Cap gained 46 points at 12961 and Nifty Midcap 100 jumped up 43 points to 15398. In Commodity market, Gold hiked 17 points to 30,095 and Silver gained 219 points at 43,152.
In Asian market, Japan's Index Nikkei declined 5 points to 17171, Hong Kong's index Hang Seng gained 108 points to 22909, China's index Shanghai Composite hiked 14 points to 3148.
Top Gainers are Tata Motors, Tata Motors (D), GAIL, BHEL, Tech Mahindra.
Top Losers are Sun Pharma, Cipla, Aurobindo Pharm, Tata Power, Adani Ports.
