The Equity market has opened on a strong note. Sensex surged more than 200 points in morning trade, after crossing the psychological 26,000 market, the BSE Sensex trading at 25,862 up 97 points, while NSE Nifty gained 41 points at 7966. About 1159 shares have advanced, 1016 shares have declined and 140 shares are unchanged. Sensex touched a high of 26,039 and touched a low of 25,816 in morning trade. Nifty touched a high of 8,018 and touched a low of 7,946 in morning trade.
Indian Rupee opened marginally lower by 0.03 paise at 68.13 per dollar versus previous close 68.16.
BSE small cap index up 7.30 points at 11501 while BSE Mid-cap index hiked 37 points to 11771. In commodity market Gold trading up 57 points at 29,192 and Silver jumped up 569 points to 41,086.
