The Indian share market slipped for the fifth consecutive session Tuesday with the Nifty closing below 8100-mark. The Sensex dropped 66.72 points to 26308 and Nifty slipped 22 points to 8082 amid lower trading volumes.
Over all 843 shares have advanced, 1774 shares have declined and 134 shares are unchanged on the BSE. The Indian Rupee Closed lower by 17 paise at 68.03 per Dollar.
The BSE Mid-cap closed at 12004, down 1.40% and Small-cap indices closed at 11947, down 0.92%. In Commodity market, Gold declined 123 points to 27,137 while Silver lost 305 points to 39,128.
Most Asian indices ended lower. Straits Times closed at 2,911.31 and Hang Seng was at 21,729.06, both in red, whereas Nikkei 225 closed in green at 19,494 at the time of the filing of this report.
Top Gainers are TCS, GAIL, Infosys, ITC, Coal India.
Top Losers are SBI, Bajaj Auto, ICICI Bank, Lupin, Tata Steel.
