On occasion of a holi festival the Indian market has closed and trading or a market will be continued from Monday.
On Friday Japanese stocks rose as a weaker yen raised a sentiment while investors bought stocks with high dividend yields.
The Nikkei share average rose 0.7% to 17,002.75 and gained 1.7% for the week.The broader Topix rose 0.8% to 1,366.05 and the JPX Nikkei index 400 climbed by 1.0% to 12,338.78.
Taiwan stocks also fell on weakness in global markets and continued caution about the weak domestic economy on Friday.
The main TAIEX index fell 0.4 percent to 8,707.79 as of 0302 GMT,after closing down 0.3 percent in the previous session.
The benchmark Shanghai composite Index slipped 0.16 percent or 4.77 points to 2,956.20 in openings.
