The 30-share BSE Sensex closed at 25,773 gain 120 points and 50-share NSE Nifty closed at 7,890 gain by 30 points or 0.38%.
In Asia,China Shanghai Composite Index ended 0.25% lower and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng gained 1.18% and Japan’s Nikkei rose 1.13%.
Shares of Motherson Sumi rose 8.36% after it reported 18.3% rise in consolidated profit.
The blue-chip CSI300 index fell 0.3% to 3,086.02 and the Shanghai Composite index was down 0.3% to 2,843.68.
