The BSE Sensex closed at 25,704 down 69 points and 50-share NSE Nifty closed at 7,870 down by 20 points or 0.26%.
End of the market breadth negative as about 1319 shares declined against 1227 advancing shares on BSE.

The broader market outperformed benchmark indices with BSE smallcap index ending higher by 0.22% while the midcap index ended flat.
Today China’s Shanghai Composite index ended 1.27% lower while the Hong Kong Hang Seng was down 1.45%.
Japan’s Nikkei ended with losses of 0.05%.
The Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) closed down 0.6% at 1956.73 points.
China’s blue-chip CSI300 index fell 1.3% to 3,045.40 points by the midday rbeak.
