Benchmark indices closed higher for sixth consecutive session Thursday but were off day's high due to selling pressure in banks and Reliance Industries. The Sensex was up 28.26 points at 28892.97 and the Nifty gained 12.60 points at 8939.50, supported by technology and telecom stocks.
Overall 699 advances, 941 declines and 273 unchanged stocks on NSE, reflecting negative undertone floating in the market. The Rupee closed higher by 14 paise at 66.83 per Dollar.
The BSE Small Cap jumped up 15 points at 13587 and BSE Mid-Cap hiked 25 points at 13532. In Commodity market, Gold closed up 48 points at 29,256 while Sliver declined 55 points to 48.
In European market, FTSE dropped 7 points to 7295, DAX lost 6 points to 11992 while CAC hiked 5 points at 4901.
