Stock Market Updates: Sensex, Nifty Trade Flat


The market was trading flat after entering the green zone for a brief period as investors are keenly eyeing exit polls. The BSE Sensex is trading at 28862 down 93 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8908 down 15 points. The market breadth was in the negative territory with 1,172 shares having advanced, 1,271 shares having declined and 140 shares remaining unchanged.The Rupee opened lower by 6 paise at 66.75 per Dollar.

The BSE Mid-cap is trading down 32 points at 13419, whereas BSE Small-cap gained 32 points at 13668. In Commodity market, Gold lost 121 points at 28,508 and Silver slipped 268 points to 41,162.

Oil & Gas stocks are losing ground on the BSE. Gail is down by 1.9%, OIL is down by 1.5%, ONGC is down by 0.9%, Reliance is down by 0.5% and BPCL is down by 0.3%. Meanwhile, Hindustan Petrol is up by 0.2%, Castrol India is up by 0.2% and IGL is up by 0.2%. Gail is alone contributing to the BSE Oil & Gas index downfall and dragging the index in the red. 

 Top Gainers: Maruti Suzuki, Axis Bank, Asian Paints, ACC, SBI. 
 Top Losers: Dr Reddys Labs, Idea Cellular, GAIL, Wipro, Adani Ports.
