The benchmark indices settled the holiday-truncated week lower after index heavyweight Infosys' revenue guidance and plan to distribute cash to shareholders fell short of expectations, raising concerns at the start of the March quarter earnings. The BSE Sensex settled at 29,461, down 182 points, while the broader Nifty ended at 9,150.80, down 52.65points. For the week, the Sensex shed 245 points or 0.8%, while the Nifty slipped 47 points or 0.5%.
Nifty April 2017 futures closed at 9182.25 on Thursday at a premium of 31.45 points over spot closing of 9150.80, while Nifty May 2017 futures ended at 9208.60, at a premium of 57.80 points over spot closing. While, BSE Mid-cap Index closed up 0.03% at 14350 whereas and the BSE Small-cap Index closed up 0.1% at 14881.
Overall, 1456 share have advanced, 1437 share have declined and 149 share are unchanged on the BSE. The Indian Rupee closed higher by 27 paise at 64.41 per Dollar.
