On Friday,last day week of a trading session market slipped down or Nifty fall above 180 points.
Today BSE Sensex closed at 26,397.71 declined by 604 points or 2.24% and NSE Nifty declined by 181 points at 8,088.60 or 2.20%.
Today the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices were down 1-1.5 percent and the market breadth improved as more than two shares declined for every share advancing on the BSE.
In Asia: Today Japan's Nikkei 225 plunged nearly 8 percent on the back of stronger yen against the US dollar and Shanghai fell 1.3 percent.
On Friday the Rupee traded at 67.93 per dollar after hitting intraday low at 68.21.
Also the Nikkei ended down 7.9 per cent at 14,952.02 points, after falling as low as 14,864.01.
