Equity benchmarks indices remained higher with the Sensex up 106 points or 0.4 percent at 27247. The Nifty ended up 26 points or 0.3 percent at 8407. About 1178 shares have advanced, 1583 shares declined, and 343 shares are unchanged on NSE. The Indian Rupee Closed higher by 25 paise at 68.07 per Dollar.
In Broader market, BSE Small Cap dropped 20 points to 12686, BSE Mid-Cap gained 24 points at 12642 and
Nifty Mid-cap 100 hiked 33 points at 15192. In Commodity market, Gold jumped up 190 points at 28,490 while Silver closed up 199 points at 41,207.
Asian Market Update: Japan's index Nikkei 225 lost 229 points to 19134, Hong kong's index Hang Seng dropped 106 points to 22829 and China's index Shanghai Composite declined 17 points to 3119.
NTPC, Infosys, Larsen, Wipro, Cipla were Top Gainers while Lupin, HUL, ITC, Coal India, Dr Reddys Labs were Top Losers in the Sensex.
