Equity benchmarks indices extended gains for second consecutive session Wednesday, with the Sensex closing at two-month high after stable earnings from banks and China's decision on steel plants. The BSE Sensex closed above 27000 level for the first time since November 10, 2016, up 240 points at 27140. The NSE Nifty moved closer to 8400 level, up 92 points at 8380. About 1021 shares have advanced, 497 shares declined, and 85 shares are unchanged on BSE. The Indian Rupee closed lower by 14 paise at 68.32 per Dollar.
All BSE sector are closed with positive leads. BSE Small Cap hiked 123 points at 12706, BSE Mid-Cap gained 170 points at 12618 and Bank Nifty declined 420 points at 18830.
In Commodity market, Gold jumped up 101 points at 28,245 while Silver dropped 21 points to 41,075.
Top Gainers: Coal India, Tata Steel, Lupin, Larsen, ICICI Bank.
Top Losers: ITC, Bajaj Auto, Reliance, ONGC, Infosys.
