Equity benchmarks indices gained strength with the Sensex rising over 150 points Tuesday after two-day consolidation, driven by banks and auto stocks. The broader markets outperformed benchmarks in late trade, with the BSE Mid-cap and Small-cap indices up 0.7% and 0.8% respectively. The Sensex surged 173 points to 26899 and the Nifty jumped up 53 points to 8288.
About 926 shares have advanced, 578 shares have declined and 85 shares are unchanged. The Indian Rupee Closed higher by 7 paise at 68.14 per Dollar.
In Commodity market, Gold hiked 24 points at 28,075 while Silver dropped 58 points at 40,630. Asian market closed with flattish node.
